Stadium Pollution
For this project, we were to fix a current world problem using biology and biotechnology. For our problem, we focused on the negative effect that sports stadiums have on the environment. This includes the amount of water they use, the amount of pollution they produce from all the cars driving to the stadium, and the type of plastics they use. There were many stages to this project and at the beginning, we had to come up with three solutions to the problem and then later limit it down to one. Our original three solutions were to use recycled water, to use a different type of grass that requires less water, and to replace all the plastics in the stadium with biodegradable plastics. After doing all of our research, we decided to focus on biodegradable plastics. We made a presentation in the form of a slideshow and presented it to the class and to 3 experts in biotechnology. Our slideshow is below:

Reflection
This project was very long and a little difficult. I loved my group because we got to work with our friends, but we get very distracted very easily. We got behind in the project but we were able to come back and make our presentation and turn it in on time along with all the stages. Another thing that did not go well is our practice presentation. We did not really know what we were talking about, so we had a problem with that, but we were able to fix the problem and take out all of the very confusing words and just put in brief slides that we could elaborate on in our own way. Our real presentation went extremely well. I think we surprised our teacher and ourselves as well. We were able to answer the questions that were thrown at us well and we actually knew what we were talking about. I thought this project was good for me. I though I was pretty productive since I was in a group who did not have a lot of productivity in it. I liked this project because we were able to tie it with something we loved (sports). But I did not like this project because it was confusing and long, but overall, I loved my group and this was a great way to end the year.
